LSAT

In exactly 25 days I will be taking the LSAT. For the next 3 weeks I plan on putting in 8 hour days practicing for the test. At this point I have taken something close to 40 practice tests. Although practicing for the test is time consuming, I have found it very beneficial. On my first practice test, I scored a 158, but 40 tests later, I am scoring consistently in the mid 170s.

Practice tests are all previously used LSAT exams and typically represent accurately how you will perform on test day. I certainly hope this is true. The difference in a 158 (my first practice test score) and 175 (my last) is the difference between a school like Ole Miss and a school like Harvard. I hope that my hard work in the next few weeks will pay off. I have been working so diligently because I do have aspirations to go to a top 5 school. Hopefully in 25 days I will be one step closer to that goal.

Rudy Giuliani and Centennial Graduation

I'm excited to hear Rudy Giuliani speak at the Centennial Graduation ceremony this Saturday. I'm interested to hear what advice he has to offer the graduates. I have followed Giuliani's political career for several years and I am very glad he is coming to campus.

Although I am excited about the Centennial Graduation, Saturday will be a somewhat sad day for me. I will be graduating in December, so I have one semester left at Southern Miss, but nearly all my friends are graduating this semester. It will surely be bittersweet to see my friends graduate. I both look forward to and dread the ending of this semester. Although, my time as Southern Miss is not over, my time here with my closest friends is drawing to a close.

Final Exam Week

Final exam week is finally here! Myself and other Southern Miss students will be spending many hours here at Starbucks inside the Joseph Cook Library. Starbucks is a great place to study as well as visit with friends. Studying here helps me to balance the seriousness of studying in the library with the relaxing environment provided by coffee and good friends.

I will be spending the next couple nights camped out in Starbucks, trying to put the finishing touches on papers and cram last minute for tests. Fortunately, this year I only have 3 exams. Most of my classes have only required papers. I can definitely see the light at the end of the tunnel and I can't wait for summer to start!
